POF is a small and simple
Windows 9x/NT4/2000 freeware program you can use to download (export) a
single mailbox from a POP3 server to a plain file, readable by most email
clients (e.g Netscape).
Installation
-
Download
the file POF.ZIP.
-
Extract its contents in
a empty directory.
-
Read the file Readme.txt.
Features
Current features:
-
User selectable POP3 port,
mailserver, mailbox and password.
-
Save and loadable profiles
for different users/ISPs.
-
Download and append mail
to a local file (mailfolder).
Note: Since I haven't been
able to test the resulting fileformat with *every* mailprogram yet, you
might want to save to new file and test it with your mailprogram, before
appending to one of your existing mailfolders.
Comming features in version
1.0:
-
Simultaneous resending of
downloaded mail via a user selectable SMTP server and port (resending/rerouting).
-
A more complete implementation
of the POP3 protocol.
-
Activation of the "delete
mails from server" functionality.
Maybe later:
-
Complete download and relay
schemas for large workgroups with any number of ISPs.
-
Server mode with:
-
Remote administration
-
Automatic resending of mail
not downloaded in long time.
-
IMAP4(rev1) support
